Meet Our Team
Russell Wagner, Executive Director
Russell Wagner, our Executive Director, received his Associates degree in Respiratory Care Therapy from Maricopa Community Colleges, followed by his Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.), Psychology in 2004 from Arizona State University. In addition Russell earned his Master of Legal Studies (MLS) degree from ASU in 2015. He is an Arizona native, married 22 years to his high school sweetheart. He and his wife are proud parents of their two daughters, ages 13 and 20.
After graduating as a respiratory therapist, Russell was introduced to skilled nursing facilities and assisted living facilities, where he found his calling. Russell believes he is blessed to work in this profession and to be able to serve the senior population.
Russell competes regularly in triathlons. He and his family enjoy relaxing at the beach and spending time together.
Laurie McConnell, Director of Memory Care
Laurie comes to us from our sister community, Alta Vista, in Prescott, AZ, where she was born and raised. She has been with Retirement Community Specialists for the last five years, and recently transferred to Generations at Agritopia to further her career. Laurie has more than 14 years experience in Assisted Living. Laurie enriches the lives of seniors and does what she can to help them live a life of purpose, treating them with love and respect.
Laurie, and her husband Sean, have two adult children, as well as a four-year-old granddaughter, Hope. Family time spent playing in the water, or boating on the lake, making memories with family and friends are special. Laurie enjoys animals of all kinds, and travel — especially road trips to the beach or the mountains. She finds time to volunteer for breast cancer research, and does whatever she can to support and honor veterans. Her favorite food is Mexican, and good seafood too.
Kathy Marks, Leasing Manager
As Generations’ Leasing Manager, Kathy enjoys learning about future residents’ interests and the opportunity to help them select the right apartment and lifestyle to meet their individual needs. Kathy grew up in Minnesota where she was the owner/operator of a large family business. After moving to Montana, she became the Administrator of a Healthcare Clinic in Missoula until she decided to leave the snow behind for sunny AZ. Kathy has lived in AZ since 2003 where she was the Business Office Director for a physicians group in Tucson, AZ before joining Generations as the Move-in Coordinator in July 2014. In her role, she enjoyed assisting future residents manage the details related to moving into their new home. Kathy loved the opportunities she had to spend time with each resident, their families and friends while making everyone’s move to Generations as smooth as possible. Kathy resides in Agritopia where she enjoys spending time with friends, her children and two grandchildren. In her free time she enjoys baking, reading, hiking, long walks, and going to the movies.
Cindy Allyn, Leasing Assistant
Cindy joined Generations, as the Leasing Assistant/Move-in Coordinator in September 2016. In her role, she enjoys assisting future residents understand the hospitality services, amenities and personal care options Generations offers, and choose their new apartment home. She also provides new residents with peace of mind by helping them manage the details related to moving. Cindy is happiest when she is being of service and looks forward to getting to know every resident, their family members and friends while making each person’s move to Generations as smooth as possible. Cindy is originally from Southern California and with her recent move from the CA desert, she is no stranger to the Arizona heat. Her multifaceted background includes project management, event planning and marketing skills which she enjoys using in her position at Generations. Cindy’s personal interests including losing herself in a great book, getting the family in the car to explore the beauty of AZ, and filling her home with the smell of baked goods.
Amy Holt, Community Outreach Specialist
As the Community Outreach Specialist, Amy enjoys educating the professional community about the lifestyle and services available at Generations. Prior to joining the Generations team, Amy was a Community Liaison in the home healthcare industry where she developed countless relationships while educating professional advisors, families, physicians and future clients about health care services and solutions available to them. Born and raised in the Boston, MA area; Amy moved to the Phoenix, AZ area 20 years ago and currently resides in Chandler, AZ. When Amy has spare time, she enjoys going on road trips with her family, exploring Arizona, going to the movies and listening to music. Hiking and local festivals are also a favorite. Amy has three teenagers in high school, a wonderful husband a dog named Hootie!
Sergio Rimola, Director of Vibrant Living
In his role as the Director of Vibrant Living, Sergio provides an ongoing program of activities that meet the interests of our residents. Prior to joining Generations at Agritopia in October 2015, he has been the Activity Director at our sister community, The Springs of Scottsdale since 2007 where he continues to oversee the program. Prior to pursuing his career in activities at The Springs, Sergio was a Fourth Grade Special Needs Educator at Austin Center and a Marksman Instructor with the 3rd Marine Aviation Wing (USMC). In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, rock finding, Volcanology and exploring wilderness areas.
Mark Wagner, Maintenance Director
In his role as the Maintenance/Housekeeping Manager, Mark manages both the maintenance and housekeeping teams to ensure both the community and residents’ private apartments are maintained and cared for. Before joining Generations in August 2014, he owned a construction company and built homes in Illinois and Arizona. In addition, Mark owns a nail salon in the valley. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his three children.
